Laura was a freshman that season but had already made an impression on her older teammates and friends. Tragically, on a beautiful Parent's Weekend after a DU lacrosse game she was killed by a stray bullet while going out to dinner with her parents and friends. It's possible you have noticed the tree we planted by Lamson with a memorial plaque in her honor.
